Life is a preparation for the hereafter. How best you prepare will determine whether you will rejoice when others are crying because of your death. It will determine whether we will be saying I wish i was given one more chance and crying as other cry.
Remembering death is one sure way to do good deeds. It will prevent us from heedlessness and disobedience. It will prevent us from wasting the little time we have a round.it will help us in fulfilling our true purpose in life.
Below is a short description of that moment by Sheikh Ash-shinqitee:
Before that day and before that immense scene must come a moment in which a person is taken from the place of illusion and deception (Dunya) to either a place of punishment (hell) or to a place of pleasure (jannah), a moment of moments in which the slave is ordained to be relocated from this life, that is the moment in which a person casts his final glances upon his sons and daughters and upon his brothers and sisters, casting final glances upon this world, the signs of the pangs of death clearly evident on his face and there emerge from deep him the sighs and moans of dying. indeed it is a moment in which even the disbeliever believes in and even the wicked evildoer has full surety of it. It is a moment in which a person recognizes the true lowly insignificance of this world, it is the moment in which a person truly feels he has neglected and disobeyed his lord, indeed it is the moment in which a person feels the deepest regret and pain for every single moment he neglected and disobeyed Allah, He calls out "My lord! My lord! send me back so that i do righteous in that which i have left behind, its the final decisive moment which even took the prophet SAW, its that which a person exclaims I wish I knew, Will I be called to paradise or to hellfire, will it be said "oh you righteous , assured, satisfied soul come back to your lord pleased and Him pleased with you or will it be said oh you filthy evil soul come out to the punishment of your lord and His anger"
